Brussels (MFASomalia) – The Acting Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Ali Mohamed Omar, attended on Friday (February 2) the 3rd EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum held in Brussels, Belgium.

In his remarks at the forum, the Acting Foreign Minister stressed Somalia’s firm commitment to addressing global issues in partnership with EU Indo-Pacific countries. He emphasized Somalia’s proactive efforts to enhance climate, environmental, political, economic, and societal resilience while promoting security and stability in accordance with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

Acting Foreign Minister Ali Omar emphasized the need for Ethiopia to respect international law and uphold Somalia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, urging Addis Ababa to play a constructive role in addressing regional challenges rather than fueling new tensions in East Africa.
